Our Process
- Coatings are a long term investment in the appearance of your vehicle. The work before a single drop ever touches an applicator matters just as much as the coating itself. Here’s how we do it.
-Step 1: Decon Wash
First things first we need to get things clean! We thoroughly hand wash the vehicle paying special attention to the wheels, trim, nooks and crannies and the engine bay.
Once washed we jump to chemical decontamination. This step removes bonded gunk like iron fall out, heavy road grime, bug guts, tar, etc. Anything still bonded to the paint gets removed mechanically by the use of a clay bar on all of the painted and glass surfaces. Our goal is to have the cleanest surface possible before polishing begins to avoid potentially adding more marks to the finish.
- Step 2: Paint Inspection
After drying we thoroughly inspect the vehicle for any defects or damage, prior repairs, or other problem areas. If we find anything that affects the process or results we will document and communicate that with you before moving forward.
- Step 3: Paint Enhancement/Polishing/Correction
This is where the shine comes from. Polishing, Compounding, Buffing, Correction all describe this step. The difference is how far we go with any of them. Depending on the condition of your vehicle and level of defect removal desired we can spend anywhere from 3 to 12+ hours working on your vehicle. More defects chased takes more time, more skill, and more labor - all communicated at drop off and after inspection of course.
-Step 4: Final Prep
Once the final finish is achieved, its time to clean the vehicle again. All polishing residue is removed from nooks, crannies, trim, and emblems. The paint then gets wiped down with a wax and grease remover to ensure there are absolutely no traces of polish or compound left behind. This final step ensures the best possible conditions for the coating to bond to your vehicle.
-Step 5: Application
Believe it or not, this is the easiest step of the entire process besides the initial hand wash.
. Our entry level coating is based on Teflon that installs extremely efficiently and performs great on daily drivers. Its the product we use for our 3-4-5 Package.
. Our standard coating is CCi Advance, it offers increase chemical and abrasion resistance with a thicker formula that takes more time and precision to install.
. Our premium coating is CCi Revolution, offers the highest slickness and gloss out of our lineup but is by far the most tedious. Requiring us to work in 2-3 square foot sections at a time to ensure a proper installation.
After the install we inspect the vehicle with diffused lighting to ensure a proper installation, and allow the vehicle to cure overnight. Depending on the package you choose this could be done in as little as one day or up to 5 for our most in depth work.

Frequently Asked Questions:
- I’ve been installing ceramic coatings since 2018, in that time I’ve learned a lot. These are the most frequently asked questions I’ve answered over the years.
-What is A ceramic coating?:
A ceramic coating is a surface protection product primarily made from silica or SiO2. When they’re applied to your paint it forms a chemical bond with the surface creating a thin, semi permanent sacrificial layer. It’s harder and more chemical resistant than traditional waxes and sealants lending to its longer duration of protection.
- What are the benefits?:
In addition to further protecting your vehicle from chemicals and micro scratches, they also provide excellent protection against bugs, bird droppings, and industrial fallout. They create an intense beading effect on your paint as a result of higher surface tension and this lends to the vehicle staying cleaner, longer. This also makes routine washing much easier - less scrubbing, more time enjoying your day.
- Will A coating prevent chips or scratches?:
Short answer - no.
Coatings do not make your vehicle scratch or chip proof, despite the ridiculous ads we’ve all seen. They offer chemical and uv protection, and ease of maintenance. Poor washing habits, and physical damage can still dull your coated finish.
- Do I need to correct the paint first?:
Yes, and no. You can get away without polishing a vehicle depending on your expectation (fleet vehicles for example, your team would save time washing but not being obsessed over swirls)
However great results are achieved with our entry level of polishing - stepping into multiple steps of correction can provide even more dramatic results.
Polishing/Correction also ensures the paint is as clean as it can possibly be - guaranteeing a proper installation. Some vehicles with matte/satin finishes are the exception to this, as polishing would ruin their finish.
-How long does a coating last?
Truly it depends on the product use, our minimum duration product has proven to provide at least 3 years of protection with regular maintenance, our premium coating CCi Revo is rated to last 5 or more years with consistent maintenance. I repeat that because it makes the absolute biggest difference in longevity, I’ve seen 2 year coatings go 3 almost 4 years, and I’ve witnessed a 5 year fail in 2 due to poor care.
-How do I maintain it?:
You have to wash a coated vehicle regularly to ensure the longest duration from your purchase and also keep your vehicle looking its best. I recommend every 2 to 4 weeks max between washes to ensure dirt doesn’t get the chance to clog the micropores in the coating. If it does get clogged there are products available to help revive it - but an ounce of prevention is worth a ton of cure.
I recommend hand washing, you dont neccesarily need to get fancy with two buckets, but at least a good grit guard, microfiber mitt, quality PH neutral soap (meguiars, optimum, koch chemi, 3d products all make great soaps).
If you absolutely need to, you can run a coated vehicle through an automatic touchless car wash. The chemicals these use are extremely harsh though, and will degrade your coating prematurely.
- Whats the bottom line?:
Coatings offer protection, not perfection. They’ll make it look better, and make it easier for you, or I to keep it that way. Regularly maintaining them will keep your vehicle looking sharp for years, neglecting them - results in disappointment. We’d rather be honest about that upfront than after you’re down the road.
